    HOW TO USE
There is a lot of misconception about what genuine African Black Soap really is. Majority of "African" black soaps found in chain stores across the country made by popular brand names are nothing more than regular soap bars dyed black. In fact, in order to get soap in nicely formed shapes lye is used in the formulation. We, for example, take our black soap powder and cook it with modern hydroxide in order to make a hard bar. It maintains many of African Black Soap's properties but has lots of nourishing oils like olive and shea butter. Real African black soap is not made in Vermont. It is made in remote African villages by women who have passed down the secret of black soap making for centuries.

Since 2001, Shea Terra Organics has been selling 100% pure and authentic African Black Soap. African Black Soap is a 100% pure botanical soap, unlike all other forms of soap which require lye. Ladies in the villages use local plantain and cacao pods to produce ash for their soap. They then cook in locally made oil and cook until the soap is completely black. This produces a soap which is more sulfuric. There are many methods of making black soap, but some can be very caustic and burn skin. Some companies take the easy way out and simply use dye. To make our African Black Soap Paste the women cook the soap into a spreadable paste.

African Black Soap Paste is easy to use on skin for a multitude of uses. Used to wash skin each day can help greatly reduce blemishes. As a shaving soap, this paste helps decrease the amount of ingrown hairs as well as helps reduce dark spots.

A guys opinion on Black soap

As a guy, this is my go to soap for my face each night. Most other soaps irritate my skin, but not with the Black soap. I also use a small amount as a shampoo. It doesn't strip or dry out my hair like ordinary shampoo. Traditional shampoos cause small sores on my scalp. I also used the Black soap bar as my shaving (cream). It does a great job in all these applications and I wouldn't use anything else.

Love it! I am sold!

The soap is amazing! I've been using the soap for a month. I have spots of eczema and subsequent hyperpigmentation. My daughter who is 7 says - (kids don't mince words) - the weepy spots are healing and the dark spots are getting lighter. My bff who I'm on video calls with every day for work remarked that my skin looked really great, and if I had started using the black soap she heard me mention in passing. I am sold! :-)

Buy it!

I am not able to use bars of soap - and knew about the authenticity and healing generated by African Black Soap. This authentic black african soap has been the best thing to ever happen to my skin. It completely heals and is working wonders on damage I received (long ago) from chemical burns to my face as a result of so-called professional skin care lines.

Good product

I like this black soap paste but I can only use it a couple times a month, I find it too drying for my skin. I like to use it when I feel like my skin needs a deep cleaning such as when I’ve been outside working in the yard. I will say I had a stubborn pimple on my chin that would not go away until I used this paste and it was much smaller the next day and went away in 2 days. I like having it in my cabinet for stubborn skin issues that might arise.
